Former World No. 1’s and Grand Slam champions Daniil Medvedev and Naomi Osaka, along with 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu join an exceptional field featuring seven of the world’s top 10 players.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Mubadala Citi DC Open, the only combined ATP-WTA 500 level tennis tournament in the world, has added three Grand Slam champions, including two former World No. 1’s, to its already deep player field. 2021 US Open Daniil Medvedev, 2019 and 2021 Australian Open and 2018 and 2020 US Open champion Naomi Osaka and 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu join a lineup that boasts seven top-10 players across both tours, five past DC champions and many fan favorites. The rest of the preliminary main draws will be released the week of June 23 and are set to feature even more of the world’s top-ranked players competing in Washington, DC this summer. The 56th edition of the tournament will take place July 19 - 27 at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park.

As the fifth largest professional tennis event in the United States, the Mubadala Citi DC Open consistently draws in the world’s best players to compete in the nation’s capital. Medvedev, Osaka and Raducanu join an elite field of ATP and WTA talent already committed to the 2025 tournament. .
On the ATP side, additional player commitments include World No. 4 and 2024 US Open finalist Taylor Fritz, World No. 7 and 2025 Roland Garros semifinalist Lorenzo Musetti, World No. 8 Tommy Paul, World No. 12 Alex de Minaur, a 2025 Australian Open quarterfinalist, DC native and World No. 13 Frances Tiafoe, a two-time US Open semifinalist and World No. 14 Andrey Rublev, 2015 DC Open champion Kei Nishikori, two-time DC singles (2019 and 2022) champion Nick Kyrgios and defending DC Open champion Sebastian Korda.
The WTA field features World No. 3, 2024 US Open finalist and 2019 DC champion Jessica Pegula, World No. 6 and 2025 Australian Open champion Madison Keys, World No. 9 and 2025 Merida champion Emma Navarro and World No. 10 and defending DC Open champion Paula Badosa.

- Daniil Medvedev, World. No. 11: The No. 2 ranked American returns to the site of her first WTA title in 2019 for her sixth DC Open appearance. In 2024, Pegula secured her sixth career title in Toronto and reached her first Grand Slam final at the US Open. She has carried her momentum into the 2025 season, capturing two titles in Charleston and Austin to bring her career total to eight. Pegula also made impressive finals runs in Adelaide and Miami.
- Emma Raducanu, World No. 36: Eight-time ATP titlist and top-ranked American Taylor Fritz will make his fifth DC Open appearance in 2025, having most recently reached the semifinals in 2023. Fritz had a standout 2024 season, highlighted by Grand Slam quarterfinal finishes at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon, and a run to the finals at the US Open. He also earned a bronze medal for Team USA in doubles at the 2024 Paris Olympics, partnering with fellow American Tommy Paul. Beyond the majors, he reached three additional finals, two semifinals and two quarterfinals, closing out the year with a career-high ranking of World No. 4. In 2025, Fritz secured a victory for Team USA at the United Cup and made a semifinal appearance in Miami.
- Naomi Osaka, World No. 57: American Madison Keys is set to return to DC for her fifth appearance, this time, as a Grand Slam champion. She kicked off her 2025 season with a title in Adelaide, before capturing her first major victory at the Australian Open. Since then, Keys has reached the semifinals at Indian Wells and the quarterfinals in Madrid. A 10-time WTA titlist, she last competed in Washington in 2023, where she advanced to the quarterfinals.
The Mubadala Citi DC Open’s ATP 500 competition will include a 48-player singles draw and 16 doubles teams, while the WTA 500 tournament will feature 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. Further player announcements are anticipated ahead of the tournament.

The tournament was founded to support Arthur Ashe’s vision of playing a professional tennis tournament in a fully accessible public park. The Mubadala Citi DC Open has continued to build and expand the event, with the goal of positively impacting the Washington community and creating one of the best events in the world. In April 2019, MDE Sports, owned and led by Washington-based venture capitalist, entrepreneur and civic leader Ein, acquired the management rights of the Mubadala Citi DC Open tournament from the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation (WTEF), a non-profit which provides free tennis and educational programs for children in underserved communities. About Mubadala Citi DC Open: The Mubadala Citi DC Open tournament, played in Washington DC, is one of the world’s premier tennis events and benefits the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation (WTEF). The tournament was founded in 1969 by Donald Dell, John Harris and Arthur Ashe in its current location in Rock Creek Park with a vision of making pro tennis accessible for all athletes and fans in the Washington community.
